Award-winning Polish-British jazz duo play a free online gig on Lockdown Thursday

Critically-acclaimed Polish-British jazz duo Robert Luft (electric guitar) and Bartosz Głowacki (accordion) will play a special concert of Latin jazz as part of the POSK Online programme presented by the Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) in London.

Broadcast scheduled for 5th November, 7.30pm
Available on YouTube and our Facebook

The concert will be broadcast on Thursday 5th November at 19.30 – the first day of the new nationwide restrictions in England due to the coronavirus pandemic*. It can be watched on POSK social media profiles on YouTube and Facebook and on www.posk.org.

Works played by the artists will include those of the Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla, who revolutionised the tango, as well as Brazilian choro.

Robert Luft

Rob Luft is an award-winning guitarist, selected as BBC New Generation Jazz Artist 2019-2021 in the programme of support for the most talented musicians from around the world. When he performed with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, The Times wrote that he was destined “to achieve great things in the future”.

Luft’s first solo album in 2017 “Riser” received fantastic reviews in the British press and he was nominated for a string of awards including “Breakthrough Act” in the 2018 Jazz FM Awards. In April this year he brought out his second album “Life is the Dancer”.

Bartosz Głowacki

Bartosz Głowacki is an accordionist who won the prestigious Polish Young Musician of the Year and went on to represent Poland in the Eurovision Young Musicians competition in Vienna.

In Britain he has performed in the best London concert halls from The Royal Albert Hall to the Barbican and the National Theatre, working with Nigel Kennedy, Trevor Pinnock and Gabriella Swallow amongst others. He regularly performs with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta.

In 2020 Głowacki released his first album “Genesis”, containing his solo performances on accordion and in duet with Rob Luft. The album delighted reviewers, who praised it as a “fascinating journey through the history of music” and described is as “the must listen” of the year.
