DESCRIPTION:Claire Cope’s Ensemble C “Every Journey” album launch!\nComposer and pianist Claire Cope leads her newly expanded “Ensemble C” in an exciting presentation of new music from their upcoming second album “Every Journey”. A joyful celebration of melody and harmonic exploration that intertwines personal emotion with the powerful stories of historically adventurous women\, the ensemble brings together some of the most talented artists from across the UK jazz scene!\nSince releasing her debut album with contemporary jazz group ‘Ensemble C’ in 2020\, Claire Cope has continued to steadily grow her presence as a composer across both jazz and contemporary classical music and her music has been performed in Europe and America. Winner of a 2022 Marvin Hamlisch International Award in Jazz Composition\, the LunArt Festival Call for Scores in 2024 and recipient of an Arts Council DYCP grant in 2023\, she has expanded her band into an exciting 11-piece project that brings together celebrated jazz musicians from London\, the North West and Scotland. Joined by the great talents of Brigitte Beraha\, Ant Law\, Matt Carmichael and Anoushka Nanguy amongst others\, her latest music pushes her vision of contemporary jazz with long form pieces reflective of her love of composers such as Pat Metheny and Maria Schneider. Playing Donaldson tunes and focusing largely on his work with the Hammond organ maverick Dr Lonnie Smith\, they will be playing tunes such as “Hotdog”\, “Blues Walk\,” “Good Gracious”\, “Alligator Bogaloo” and “Ode to Billy Jo” as well as associated compositions by Jimmy Smith\, Pat Martino\, Horace Silver and others.\n\nTickets

DESCRIPTION:Julian Costello and Vertigo\nReleased last year\, Vertigo’s album was chosen as one of the top ten releases of the year by Jazzviews. This group has an exciting and unusual line up of saxophone and cello\, guitar and oud\, and tabla and drums. Vertigo were recently invited to perform three tunes live on BBC Radio 3’s Intune programme and have been playing many concerts including sell out gigs at Cadogan Hall\, Pizza Express Jazz Club and the Brecon Jazz Festival. The musicians are some of the most sought after in London and this fantastic combo creates cinematic textures\, world music vibes and grooves. DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to announce that the next event organised as part of our campaign in the UK under the slogan “STOP HATE! MOTIVATE!” will take place in London on 22-23 March 2025. This will be a unique opportunity to explore the themes of countering hate speech\, strengthening self-esteem and building resilience to negative emotions. \nThe event is co-organised by the Polish Social & Cultural Association (POSK)\, under the supervision of Żaneta Brudzinska\, and the entire campaign in London is coordinated by Anna Szyrynska. \nSchedule of the event: \n22 March: Workshops for students from Polish schools in London to educate young people on how to deal with hate speech and build positive communication. \n23 March: ‘STOP HATE. MOTIVATE”\, combined with a workshop led by Ilona Adamska – the originator of the campaign.
