DESCRIPTION:Storytelling in Times of War: Reflections on Ukraine.Just Bcoz Productions invite you for a panel event exploring the power of storytelling during times of crisis\, with a specific focus on the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war.We will be joined by four speakers working across different disciplines\, each offering a unique perspective on how stories can remedy\, confront and shape our understanding of Ukraine at this critical moment in its history.Olesya Khromeychuk\, a writer\, historian and director of the Ukrainian Institute in London.James Waterhouse\, the BBC’s Ukrainian correspondent and regular presenter of Ukrainecast.Julian Simmonds\, a photographer who has worked on the frontlines of Ukraine since 2014.Anastasiya Ador\, a comedy actor and writer who specialises in clowning as a form of theatrical storytelling.The event is presented by Just Bcoz Productions and all ticket sales will support their debut play\, Refuse\, inspired by true stories from Ukraine and showcasing at Edinburgh Fringe this August. 50% of profits from the play will be donated to rebuilding homes and communities in Ukraine\, through United24’s ‘Rebuild Ukraine’ initiative.The panel will be hosted by Refuse’s director\, Anastazie Toros\, who is currently completing a PhD on representations of migration and displacement within the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war.
