DESCRIPTION:On the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino\, the POSK Polish Library in London cordially invites you to the exhibition “Passerby\, tell Poland…” to the Sala Orłów. Let’s learn about the history of this famous battle and explore the unknown photographs and documents displayed in the showcases. Most of the photographs are from the collection of the POSK Polish Library in London.\n“The most fierce battle of World War II ended on May 18\, 1944 after four months of bloody fighting. The mountain range\, now strewn with ruins and graves of soldiers of various nationalities\, was captured\,” an excerpt from the description under the plaque on display at the exhibition with a photo of the ruins of the monastery as seen from “Serpent’s Head.”\nThe exhibition was prepared as part of POSK’s 60th anniversary celebrations.\nThe exhibition is bilingual prepared also for British audiences.\nThe exhibition can be visited until the end of October.\nAdmission is free.
