SUMMARY:03.11| Screening of the film "HOME"
DESCRIPTION:The film in both Polish and English has Polish subtitles in places where English dialogue takes place\, and English subtitles when it falls in Polish. \nMeli Hilleard film\nEven on the ruins a new home can be built. Documentary\, Independent Cinema\, Experimental\, Artistic\, Author\, “Found Footage” ‘HOME’ subverts the rules about how we assumed a film should look. This 95-minute documentary was created from “found footage”; shot over many years with a “belly-up” camera\, capturing events completely improvised\, and the script was written last\, in a process almost reversed. The film focuses on family\, identity\, emigration\, and the circle of life\, death and rebirth. It was inspired by seven years of film and photographic footage\, showing the lives of a handful of people thrown out of their cultures and homes\, who make a home and find love in the home of a 90-year-old\, bedridden writer\, in a London suburb. “HOME” film website & trailer https://melahilleard.com/?page_id=192 \nTICKETS – click here \n03.11.2024\, 3 – 4:35 pm\nSala Orłów\, POSK

SUMMARY:19.11| Concert: "Osiecka po męsku"
DESCRIPTION:From the series of events: POLISH AUTUMN IN POSK \nProject financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland in the competition “Polonia and Polish people abroad 2024 – polish events and initiatives” \nProject title: Days of Polish Culture in POSK London\n\nThe publication expresses only the views of the author and cannot be equated with the official position of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.\n\n\n“OSIECKA PO MĘSKU” CONCERT \nThe “Osiecka po męsku” concert has been successfully played dozens of times since its premiere and invariably gathers full houses\, while the material itself evolves\, changes and matures along with the artists. \nAgnieszka Osiecka’s songs put through the prism of male sensibilities are surprising and fresh. \nAs an actor\, Marcin Januszkiewicz understands that words are usually “about something\,” but he doesn’t succumb to the terror of the only right interpretation and plays with the text. He is also a musician\, so he freely juggles vocal conventions and bends immortal phrases. He treats his voice as an instrument\, aided by the accompaniment of his bandmates. The concert program includes great hits (“Long live the ball”\, “Wariatka dances”\, “Before the day rises”\, “Lullaby for a crumb”\, “And I prefer my mother”\, “Restless rains” ) and little-known songs (“Spare Parts\,” “Circus at Night\,” “On Our Lame Barge\,” “From Night to Night\,” “Devils in the Rain”). Marcin Januszkiewicz will be accompanied on stage by a band of phenomenal musicians: Piotr Iwański – piano\, Łukasz Czekała – violin\, Bartek Alber – guitars\, loops. _________________________________________ \nMARCIN JANUSZKIEWICZ – Actor\, singer\, composer and songwriter. He is the winner of the Grand Prix award of the 38th Przegląd Piosenki Aktorskiej (PPA) in Wroclaw and the Polish entertainment program “Twoja Twarz Brzmi Znajomo”. He has performed\, among others\, on the stages of the capital’s Teatr Współczesny\, Teatr Studio\, Teatr Muzyczny Roma\, Teatr Komedia\, Teatr Studio Buffo. He is a lyricist and composer – he has worked with Natalia Szroeder\, Dawid Kwiatkowski\, Kasia Dereń and Margaret\, among others. He co-wrote the lyrics and music for the original musical “I Lick Your Heart” directed by Agnieszka Glinska at the Capitol Musical Theater in Wroclaw.
