SUMMARY:13.10| Mozart Concert: "Kegelstatt" Trio for Clarinet\, Viola and Piano.
DESCRIPTION:Mozart: “Kegelstatt” Trio for Clarinet\, Viola and PianoTrio 498\, with experience in both orchestral and chamber music\, first collaborated while working at the Westminster School. Program:F. Lessel – Allegro from Grand Trio (1805)R. Schumann – Marchenerzahlungen (Fairytales) (1853)W. Lutoslawski – 5 Dance Preludes (1955)W. A. Mozart – Kegelstatt Trio (1786) Trio 498\, with experience in both orchestral and chamber music\, first collaborated while at Westminster School\, playing Mozart’s Kegelbahn Trio in June 2019.\nTheir concerts include performances with renowned orchestras and the promotion of musical activities in hospitals and cultural centers.\nIn addition to existing repertoire\, the Trio is also engaged in exploring new musical possibilities through various transcriptions.\nThe unusual combination of instruments takes its roots from Mozart’s ‘Trio Kegelstatt’ from 1786.\nIn fact\, the nickname refers more accurately to the Duetti for 12 wind instruments K 487\, to which Mozart added on his autograph: “Vienna\, July 27\, 1786 playing bowling” (‘Kegeln’ in German).\nThe chronoligical proximity of the Trio (Vienna\, August 5\, 1786 and appearing under the number ‘498’ in Köchel’s catalog) adds credibility to the musical figures used here\, associated with the playful image of a heavy ball rolling toward the bowling pin.\nMozart’s Trio Kegelstatt was first performed at the home of the musical Jacquin family\, who were among Mozart’s closest friends in Vienna.\nFor this first performance\, Mozart played the viola part\, with Franziska Jacquin at the piano and the distinguished Anton Stadler on clarinet.\nFrom the context of the piece’s origins\, one can infer that Mozart approached the composition and performance of this trio with a sense of fun and friendship – evidence of Goethe’s words\, who compared chamber music to “a conversation between friends.” \nThe trio invites you to “join the conversation” at the October 13 concert\, which will feature music by Polish composers Lutoslawski and Franciszek Lessel\, alongside Mozart and Schumann. \n13.10. 3:00pm \nPolishSocial and Cultural Association\, \n3rdfloorAtrium \nTickets: £10 CLICK HERE

In 1858 he traveled to Paris to dedicate time to composition. Legend has it that during a very hot 4 days the composer isolated himself in his hotel room and wrote the whole opera Flis. Flis is set in a town of raftsmen by the Wisla river and revolves around two young lovers who are not allowed to marry because the father of the girl “Zosia” had previously promised her to another young man “Jakub” (who is a hairdresser in Warsaw!). Disillusioned\, Franek goes off in search of his long lost brother\, only to find that his brother is actually the hairdresser in Warsaw! The score is full of Polish folk-influenced tunes\, prayers and national rhythms including the Kujawiak. \nSelected dancers from Tatra\, Mazury\, Karolinka\, Orketa\, and Żywiec dance groups \n \nVerbum Nobile is a comic opera. \nZuzia and Michal are promised to each other by their parents\, without their having met; they meet accidentally and fall in love. Michal\, having given his name as Stanislaw\, is refused Zusia’s hand by her father\, who has given his word to Serwacy\, Michal’s father\, on the betrothal. All is explained\, preventing a duel between Marcin and Serwacy\, and the marriage can go ahead. \n\n \n	\n	\n	\n	\n Opera-VerbumNobileFlis-2	\n	\n	\n\n	\nSaturday 26 October 7.30pm – TICKETS \nSunday 27 October at 16.00 – TICKETS \nat the POSK Theatre \n
