W\u0142odek Pawlik, a jazz pianist and composer, is the only Polish winner of the Grammy Award in jazz, for the album \u201cNight in Calisia\u201d!<\/b><\/div>\n
His records have reached gold and platinum sales.<\/b><\/div>\n
He composed music for a musical Irena about life of Irena Sendler, premiered in 2022 at the Musical Theatre in Pozna\u0144 that met with enthusiastic reception from the audiences and critics<\/b><\/div>\n
Pawlik & Pawlik Duo is a concert project of father (W\u0142odek Pawlik) and son (\u0141ukasz Pawlik) – two generations of a musical family.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
The core of the repertoire consists of compositions by W\u0142odek Pawlik, Grammy Award winner for his album \u201cNight in Calisia\u201d. In turn, \u0141ukasz Pawlik (winner of the Berlin Jazz & Blues Award), makes himself known as a cellist, and therefore one of the few artists to use this instrument in jazz.<\/b><\/div>\n
The duo’s music defies clear-cut classification. Apart from jazz, it contains elements of world music and highland folklore. Although both musicians are classically trained instrumentalists, their element is improvisation and what is created here and now.<\/b><\/div>\n
