HEY ON SOPLICA! THE STORY OF “MR TADEUSZ”: JERZY BRALCZYK, MICHAŁ OGÓREK AND ANNA SENIUK
An extraordinary screening of the reconstructed version of the film “Pan Tadeusz” (directed by Ryszard Ordynski, Poland 1928) – a superproduction, the first screen adaptation of the epic of the national bard. Prof. Jerzy Bralczyk and editor Michał Ogórek, with their usual eloquence and humor, will perform a great live improvisation: they will comment on Mickiewicz’s masterpiece (satirically, historically, linguistically), make points and supplement it. They will enrich the (reconstructed) picture with words. We will also hear fragments of “Pan Tadeusz” in a masterful performance by Anna Seniuk. JERZY BRALCZYK – linguist, professor of humanities, Polish language expert specializing in the language of media, advertising and politics, as well as popularizer of knowledge about language. Vice-chairman of the Council for the Polish Language, lecturer at Warsaw University and SWPS University. MICHAŁ OGÓREK – journalist, columnist, television presenter, satirist and film critic. Author of books, including “Guide to Poland, “The Best Cucumber, or a calendar for every year”, “One hundred years! How we honored leaders in the last century”. ANNA SENIUK – theater, film and television actress. On a daily basis associated with the National Theater in Warsaw. Professor at the Theater Academy in Warsaw. Director. She cooperates with the Radio and Television Theater. She has countless theatrical and film roles to her credit. Honored with many theatrical awards and honors, as well as awards for outstanding acting performances in Radio and Television Theater. Awarded the Golden Cross of Merit, the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Rebirth of Poland, the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Rebirth of Poland, the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Rebirth of Poland and the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture “Gloria Artis”.
